The MedcomSoft Record Document Management System does not require any additional user configuration. Users simply scan or attach documents and images to pre-set folders that are fully integrated with other clinical and practice management processes. Documents can be associated with providers, patients, or any other activity in the patient chart and are fully integrated with the MedcomSoft Record Tasking, Referral and Authorization System. Users can attach comments to documents and can assign documents to other users for review to ensure that all documents are dealt with in an appropriate and timely fashion.
This system is invaluable when scanning old paper charts into electronic patient medical records. An existing patient paper chart can be separated and scanned in minutes freeing up physical space in the practice, and ensuring that all historic patient information is instantaneously accessible with the newly captured electronic data by authorized MedcomSoft Record users.
Any paper documents or images received from outside sources pertaining to a patient chart such as referral letters, discharge summaries, diagnostic results, and radiology images can be quickly scanned and viewed from anywhere within the system.
The MedcomSoft Record multi-level security system extends to the Document Management System and prevents unauthorized users from accessing documents, images and other electronic data.
Users can add annotations to clinical images and store them as part of the electronic patient chart through the document management module. A selection of clinical images is included with MedcomSoft Record, however users have the option of adding clinical images to the library, or patient-specific images on which clinicians can easily draw, edit or add relevant text. Annotations can be reviewed at any time, and multiple annotations can be added to any image. In addition, the system stores personalized lists of library pictures, to increase the speed access to of frequently used images.
