Server Basic Requirements

  • Intel P4 2.4 GHz Processor or better
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 200 GB Disk Space (Raid 1 or 5)
  • DVD-Rom Drive on Network
  • Network communications (TCP/IP)
  • Backup device and software
  • UPS
  • Microsoft Windows 2003 Server
  • Recommended (1-5 Clients) MSDE (1-10 Clients) SQL2005
  • Microsoft SQL 2005 *(1-10 Clients only)
  • Recommended (10 - 50 Clients) SQL 2005

Terminal Server - Citrix Server Requirements

  • Microsoft Windows 2003 Server R1 or R2
  • Dual Intel P4 2.4 GHz Processor
  • 4 GB Ram
  • 120 GB Disk space (Raid 1 or better)
  • Network communications with TCP/IP
  • UPS
  • NOTE: It is recommended that only the client software is installed on a terminal server.

Database Specifications

Database applications supported by MedcomSoft Record:

  • MSDE II with SP4
  • MSSQL 2000 with SP4
  • MSSQL 2005

The following suggestions should be taken into consideration when choosing database applications:

  • The Terminal server should not be on the same server as the Database/record server
  • Small Business Server 2003 supports up to 75 clients only and the SQL server 2000/2005 is only included in the Premium edition

Additional Software Requirements

  • Microsoft Office 2003/2007 for all client and terminal server systems
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003/2007 (Real Time Calendar Sharing) Except for a standalone system

Thin Client Specifications

  • Must support 1024 x 768 display or better
  • Must support RDP or Citrix connection to the Terminal or Citrix server
