Meaningful Use FAQ
The following links are additional resources to provide you with information regarding "Meaningful Use". The following organizations are either responsible for certifying EMR's or setting forth the requirements and standards for the EMR's. There are also FAQ page links that can answer any questions you may have about "Meaningful Use" and how it will affect your practice.
- Is MedcomSoft Record certified?
Yes. MedcomSoft is ONC certified.
- Will it cost extra?
No. MedcomSoft does not charge it's clients additional fees for Meaningful Use.
- Will my staff or I need to do anything extra?
MedcomSoft will assist your practice with any questions you have regarding recieving your government incentive payments.
- What, exactly, is "Meaningful Use?"
Meaningful Use basically says that your paractice has an EMR in place, and that a certain percentage of your patients have their medical records contained within this EMR. There are different criteria and outlines pertaining to both the EMR and the patient information, and we have the documentation to assist you with that step. Also, "Meaningful Use" specifys that within the next several years, those practices not implementing an EMR will be penalized monetarily.
- How do I know MedcomSoft qualifies?
We have recieved ONC certification for our software. Any practice using our certified software becomes eligible for government incentive money for meeting "Meaningful Use."
