Corporate Name Change

02.02.2010

On the one year anniversary of PBFOnline acquiring MedcomSoft electronic medical record software from the former MedcomSoft Inc., based out of Toronto Canada, PBFOnline has decided to merge under the single name of MedcomSoft®. The re-born company holds international trademarks on its cornerstone product, MedcomSoft Record™ UE, an interoperable electronic medical record and practice management software. The product is currently deployed in hundreds of physician practices and networks across the United States and Canada.

Shawn Long, CEO, states the reason for the name change was simple, "We wanted to better align ourselves with the market we represent." This alignment includes MedcomSoft Record™ EMR software along with practice management consulting and medical billing services. Further alignment occurs through partnership with viLogics, Inc., a sister corporation, which provides healthcare data center and virtual infrastructure design, planning, deployment and optimization. The current data virtualization technology is used within MedcomSoft's hosted EMR product that ensures real-time business continuity to the client.

HIMSS Announcement

01.25.2010

MedcomSoft, developer of MedcomSoft Record™ UE, an ambulatory electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management system for physicians will be demonstrating their application solution at this year's Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference at Booth #906 in Atlanta, Georgia in March. MedcomSoft CEO Mr. Shawn Long indicates that MedcomSoft Record™ UE is a fully interoperable EMR, allowing for sharing of patient information between hospital systems, lab processing centers and diagnostic imaging services. The product also supports e-prescription and a variety of other tools including scheduling, billing, workflow, coding and compliance checking, health maintenance alerts, and business intelligence in one integrated system. Mr. Long indicated that there are hundreds of physicians currently utilizing the MedcomSoft EMR solution to improve practice operations and clinical quality as well as capturing financial incentives available to physicians and helping overall office productivity.

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has set a timeline and established payment incentives for implementation and meaningful use of an EMR solution for physicians and hospitals. For those providers who do not have an EMR solution implemented by 2015, Medicare will begin reducing their payments for services.

Mr. Long indicates that MedcomSoft Record™ UE meets federal meaningful use requirements that exist today and the unit cost of entry and ongoing use of MedcomSoft is low compared to other EMR products on the market. The new application is completely hosted which eliminates the need for significant upfront investment in computer hardware and servers which is often the main reason that providers cite as a barrier to implementation of an EMR. MedcomSoft Record™ UE also supports interfaces with clinical equipment that provides output by making it a part of a patient's medical record.

"The company is growing rapidly but strives to keep the cost of sales and overhead low." In January alone we have added additional employees and expect to add between 20 and 30 more this year to support our growth" states Mr. Long. The Company also offers complete medical billing and practice management services.
